Fade-Resistant Black Denim Ft. Mott & Bow!

Sweater / c/o Jeans / Similar boots / Bag / Necklaces here, here and here /

Happy Friday,

I hope everyone had a good week! We had our first dusting of snow a couple days ago, so I got a little excited and busted out all my Christmas decorations. I don’t know what it is but I feel like I wait all year for Fall, and then as soon as Halloween’s over I’m already onto Christmas! I always try to stop myself from getting too excited about Christmas before December but it never works lol!

Todays outfit is a cozy one! I picked up this sweater a couple weeks ago because I loved the mauve colour but once I tried it on I fell in love with how slouchy and soft it is. I paired it with my new Mott & Bow ‘Bond’ jeans which are a new favourite in my wardrobe! They are a pitch black, high-waisted jean that won’t fade!! I always have an issue when buying black jeans, once I put them through the wash a few times they end up almost greyish from all the fading, so I’m happy I finally found a pair that will hold their colour.

Does anyone have any exciting plans this weekend? I think I might shoot my first VLOG! I’ve been thinking about making YouTube videos for a while now, and I think I’ve finally convinced myself to just do it!

Dainty Layered Necklaces | How To Achieve The Look Ft. Miranda Frye Jewelry!

Necklace Layering 101

Move over chunky statement necklaces and make way for the new ‘it’ trend of layering dainty necklaces. While statement necklaces were great for …well, making a statement. You can still achieve the same sort of look by layering multiple dainty necklaces together, but with the added benefit that they look totally effortless. Depending on the look your going for there’s a few things to take into consideration:

  1. The number of necklaces you want
  2. The shape of the necklace
  3. The Length
  4. The colour of metal
  5. The texture of the metal

If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you know I live in my Miranda Frye Kingsley necklace all year round. It’s beautiful, and simple but sparkles in the sunlight which makes just enough of a statement for everyday wear. But as you know, somedays you need a little extra something and those are the days I throw on some extra layers! Miranda Frye makes the perfect necklaces for layering, just one look at her collection and you’ll see for yourself that there are endless possibilities.

The Breakdown

The necklaces I’m layering in this post (from shortest to longest) are:

I like keeping my layers all the same colour(gold is my go-to) and mix the texture of the metals instead. Some chains are thicker then others, and thats okay, its all apart of the overall aesthetic! Layering doesn’t have to be too matchy-matchy, so don’t be afraid to throw in different shapes too. I use the Hailey and Cora necklaces to add a little interest into my layers, but the new Alex chain with a charm would look great too!

Picking Your Layers

I always work my necklaces around what I’m wearing that day. So if I’m wearing a low v-neck(like pictured) then I’ll throw on all sorts on different lengths, starting with a choker, then adding in a mid-length necklace, followed by a long lariat length necklace. But feel free to add more or less to your look depending on how much of a statement you feel like making!

Tip: Try tucking your longest necklace into your shirt to give the illusion of a body chain!

If I decide to wear a scoop or crewneck top I usually opt for a double layered choker look(pictured below) so the necklaces don’t compete with the neckline of my top. Another cute short necklace combo is the London necklace (I’m obsessed with this one!) and the Chloe choker!

And there you have it! I hope this post helps anyone looking to tryout the trend, and if you have any questions or suggestions leave me a comment below 🙂 I’d love to hear from you!

*A big thank you to Miranda Frye for collaborating with me on this post.

Bow Back Sweater In Blue Mountain!

Similar Jacket / Sweater / Similar Skirt / Boots (suede version) / Similar Leather Boot / Watch / Earrings /

Happy Monday friends,

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekends. Todays look is another one of my outfits from Blue Mountain, and I think it’s one of my favourite outfits I’ve ever shared! I love pairing cozy sweaters and booties with skirts while the weather is still mild enough to get away with it. I picked up this sweater at Zara a few weeks ago and fell in love with it as soon as I tried it on. Its sooooo silky soft and comfy, it feels like your wearing a cloud! My skirt is an old Smart Set find but Nordstrom has some really good leather skirt options right now, and I’ve linked one of my favourites below!

Getting Cozy In Blue Mountain!

Sweater / Similar Jacket / C/O Necklace / Earrings / Jeans / Similar Shoes /

Hey guys!

As I mentioned in last weeks post, Peter and I went to Blue Mountain on the weekend for their Apple Harvest Festival. We got there on Friday night before the festival started and walked around the village, took some outfit pictures and then headed back to our hotel before dinner. It was so nice to spend a night up north with all the colourful leaves, we don’t normally do trips in the fall but now I feel like it needs to become a tradition! The Harvest Festival started Saturday but it was raining all day so we watched a few shows and demonstrations and then headed back home for Thanksgiving. I wore this sweater when we were exploring on Friday and it was perfect, the weather was cool so it kept me nice and warm! It is a little scratchy though so if you have super sensitive skin, this one might not be for you. I found a look-a-like thats soft and linked it in the widget below.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a wonderful weekend!
