I’m writing to you from snowy Blue Mountain this morning. Peter and I are about to head down for breakfast but I wanted to make sure I got this post up bright and early for you guys because 1. I wanted to say Happy Valentines day and 2. My favourite OTK boots just got marked down to $39!! My jaw was on the floor last night when I noticed the price drop, $39 is an insane deal for boots this cute and well fitting. If you’ve been eyeing them for a while or have been needing a good OTK boot, I highly suggest giving these ones a try. Grab them in black since they go with everything and I promise you’ll be thanking me next fall when all the OTK boots are full price and in high demand. Also I wanted to mention this wrap top, its super high quality so it would be perfect for work tucked into dress pants or a skirt but can also be easily dressed down with jeans – like I’m showing above.
Okay we’re off to breakfast and then headed into the Village for some shopping and exploring. Have a wonderful Valentines day everyone!
I’m all about creating a cohesive Instagram feed and letting my photos tell a story even from a far. So today I’m sharing my 4 go-to apps that let me achieve the look im going for, every time!
UNUM– For organizing your feed before your upload
This is a great app if you want to plan out how your new Instagram photos are going to look with your existing feed. You can upload multiple pictures at a time and move them around to figure out what looks best. I use this every time I upload to make sure my colour story compliments my current feed.
Airbrush– Great for editing and enhancing your photos
I always brighten and sharpen my pictures in the Instagram app but I love using Airbrush for the ‘whitening’ and ‘brightening’ tools! The brightening tool really makes details pop, like the quilting on my purse, or the shine on my jewelry. It helps draw the eye to details that may have otherwise gone unnoticed.
Layout– Perfect for posting two pictures in one, or mirroring an image
I love using this app if my photo doesn’t fit in Instagram – theres nothing worse then a great photo being cut off by Instagrams weird sizing. I will usually put my photo in the Layout app and mirror it so it fits – or ill add two photos into one picture to show multiple angles.
Heres an example of what I’m talking about since its kind of hard to explain:
Canva– for adding words, and graphics
I use this app a ton for my blog and for making Pinterest graphics but it does come in handy for Instagram too. If you ever want to add text or graphics to one of your photos or even make a banner for your facebook or Twitter header, this app can help you do it. It has a ton of different layouts you can use for Instagram(and for so many other things) and is your BFF if you have a business on Instagram because it will help you create any kind of graphic you need (we’re hiring, sale! ect)
Here’s an example of a few graphics I’ve made:
I hope this post was helpful for anyone looking to step up their Instagram game, I use these apps everyday and find they provide me with everything I need to keep my Instagram just the way I like it! In other news, Peter and I are headed to Blue mountain tomorrow for a little Valentines day getaway. We booked at a hotel that has a full spa and gorgeous outdoor hot tubs that are built right into the rocks and landscape, its looks amazing!
Sorry for the late upload today…these collages took a lot longer to make then I had anticipated lol! I wanted to give you the low down on all the trends coming up for Spring/Summer 2018! I can’t wait for the weather to get warmer so I can start sporting some of these trends. I get so anxious waiting for spring to get here because with the 5 months of cold weather we get in Canada, its so nice to finally brighten up my wardrobe again and wear some lighter layers.

Panton’s colour of the year is Ultra Violet, so expect to see a ton of purple shades in stores come spring! Also I love dressing in pastels – especially pink – when the weather warms up so Im loving that this is still a trend for 2018.

Trench coats are said to be HUGE this year. I’ve had my eye on the trench above for about a year now…maybe this a sign I need to buy it already haha! Also, I’m excited to try out the slip dress trend. Not sure if I can pull it off, but we will soon find out!

I’m loving the feminine patters this year with all the florals and polkadots, these two are going to be on major repeat for me come spring!
As promised, today I’m reviewing my new Michael Kors Sloan Bag. The last bag review I did is my most viewed post of all time so I figured why not start making this type of post a regular occurrence when I get a new bag! I purchased the Sloan a few weeks before Christmas so I’ve been carrying it for a little over a month now, with that being said I feel like I have a handle on how the bag carries and what the pros and cons of it are.
100% Lamb Leather
11″W X 6.75″H X 3.5″D
Adjustable Strap: 12″-20.75″
Exterior Details: Back Snap Pocket (runs across the entire back of the bag and is perfect for your phone!)
Interior Details: Back Zip Pocket, 4 Front Slit Pockets, Center Zip Compartment
I love the look of the bag, it has the essence of a designer bag (think Chanel Boy bag) but at a much more affordable price point
The built in organization is amazing, the large pocket across the back is great for your phone and secures with a magnetic button. The inside is divided into two sections by a zippered middle pocket(great for lipsticks) which makes it easy to find everything inside the bag. *I like to use another zippered pouch inside the bag to fit all my other essentials like hand sanitizer, moisturizer, pens, Kleenex, hair brush ect. I do this to make things extra organized but also to protect the bag incase something leaks
The size is perfect for all my everyday essentials
Its super convient that the chain strap can be a long cross body, or a arm/shoulder bag in the matter of seconds
Elevates any outfit
The lambs leather is buttery soft and so gorgeous, but its also extremely delicate so if your rough on your bags then I wouldn’t suggest this one. The leather gets damaged easily, I bashed mine against a door frame while walking through it and now the leather in that area is gone(its a very small area but still worth noting). I’m gentle on my bags and don’t tend to carry them for more then 6 months/a year so I’m not too worried about it, but if your investing in this bag and are planning on carrying it daily for years to come then you will have to baby it!
I wish it was just a tiny bit bigger, height wise. I like to take my iPad Pro with me when I’m out but I can’t when I carry this bag. Also the extra height would make it so much easier to button when my keys and sunglasses are in my purse on top of everything else, I can make them fit but its a little difficult to button when the bag is packed full.
Also when the bag is full and in use its difficult to get the front clasp open to get into to the bag. The bag has to be lifted up(weight taken off it) in order for the clasp to open…I hope this point makes sense, its kind of hard to explain in writing lol!
Overall I love this bag, I think its worth the money if your a bag lover like myself and take care of them. Its the perfect grab and go size and fits all my essentials, it compliments any outfit and I don’t have to worry about colour transfer(from my clothing onto the bag) because its black! If your tempted by the blush pink version(like I was) just keep that in mind because with leather this soft the colour transfer is going to be brutal on lighter shades! I love the look of this bag so much I’m actually considering buying the smaller version in red for spring!
I hope you guys enjoyed this post and I’ll see you Friday 🙂
