I’m writing to you from snowy Blue Mountain this morning. Peter and I are about to head down for breakfast but I wanted to make sure I got this post up bright and early for you guys because 1. I wanted to say Happy Valentines day and 2. My favourite OTK boots just got marked down to $39!! My jaw was on the floor last night when I noticed the price drop, $39 is an insane deal for boots this cute and well fitting. If you’ve been eyeing them for a while or have been needing a good OTK boot, I highly suggest giving these ones a try. Grab them in black since they go with everything and I promise you’ll be thanking me next fall when all the OTK boots are full price and in high demand. Also I wanted to mention this wrap top, its super high quality so it would be perfect for work tucked into dress pants or a skirt but can also be easily dressed down with jeans – like I’m showing above.
Okay we’re off to breakfast and then headed into the Village for some shopping and exploring. Have a wonderful Valentines day everyone!
I’m all about creating a cohesive Instagram feed and letting my photos tell a story even from a far. So today I’m sharing my 4 go-to apps that let me achieve the look im going for, every time!
UNUM– For organizing your feed before your upload
This is a great app if you want to plan out how your new Instagram photos are going to look with your existing feed. You can upload multiple pictures at a time and move them around to figure out what looks best. I use this every time I upload to make sure my colour story compliments my current feed.
Airbrush– Great for editing and enhancing your photos
I always brighten and sharpen my pictures in the Instagram app but I love using Airbrush for the ‘whitening’ and ‘brightening’ tools! The brightening tool really makes details pop, like the quilting on my purse, or the shine on my jewelry. It helps draw the eye to details that may have otherwise gone unnoticed.
Layout– Perfect for posting two pictures in one, or mirroring an image
I love using this app if my photo doesn’t fit in Instagram – theres nothing worse then a great photo being cut off by Instagrams weird sizing. I will usually put my photo in the Layout app and mirror it so it fits – or ill add two photos into one picture to show multiple angles.
Heres an example of what I’m talking about since its kind of hard to explain:
Canva– for adding words, and graphics
I use this app a ton for my blog and for making Pinterest graphics but it does come in handy for Instagram too. If you ever want to add text or graphics to one of your photos or even make a banner for your facebook or Twitter header, this app can help you do it. It has a ton of different layouts you can use for Instagram(and for so many other things) and is your BFF if you have a business on Instagram because it will help you create any kind of graphic you need (we’re hiring, sale! ect)
Here’s an example of a few graphics I’ve made:
I hope this post was helpful for anyone looking to step up their Instagram game, I use these apps everyday and find they provide me with everything I need to keep my Instagram just the way I like it! In other news, Peter and I are headed to Blue mountain tomorrow for a little Valentines day getaway. We booked at a hotel that has a full spa and gorgeous outdoor hot tubs that are built right into the rocks and landscape, its looks amazing!
I found this adorable little scalloped cami last week and I knew right away that it belonged in my wardrobe. If you know me, you know I live in basic camis all week, they’re the perfect layering piece that can be dressed up or down so easily. The quality is soooo good in this one for the price (snag it on sale when the 40% off purchase pops up!) its lined so you don’t have to worry about it being see-through and fits TTS – I bought my usual Small. Also I can’t forget about this perfect little cardi, the length is great and it’s nice and light so it’ll be perfect as a second piece in the spring/summer. The price is great on this one too only $34 and is perfect for work or casual wear.
Anyone have any exciting plans for the weekend? We’re supposed to get a big snow storm here starting this afternoon and going until Sunday (Yikes!!) – so I think I’ll be snowed in this weekend. If you have any suggestion for good Netflix movies/shows I should watch let me know!
I know this outfit screams spring, but maybe if I dress like spring the universe will bring me some spring weather(lol wishful thinking!). I won’t lie to you – I was absolutely freezing shooting this look but I’m just itching for fresh colour palettes and light layers these days. I love this look so much, all the embroidery on this blush pink top makes me so happy…and of course I had to pair it with my favourite white denim! I can’t forget to mention this adorable scalloped tote, and its actually reversible to the metallic rose gold inside – two bags for the price of one!
