To start the new year off on a fresh foot, I wanted to share my top skin care products that I’ve been using on my face routinely for the past few months. I have sensitive skin so its hard for me to find products that are gentle enough on my skin but strong enough to do the job I want them to, especially in the winter when it comes to moisture. So I’m going to jump right into it;
**I’m going to list these products in the order I would apply them, unfortunately the picture doesn’t depict the order so I apologise for that.
First on my list is the Real Nature Green Tea Face Masks;
These are amazing! I use them at least once a week to even out my skin tone and re energise my skin. They are perfect for adding extra moisture to your face on those days that your skin needs a little extra help, whether you didn’t get enough sleep or had a late night out with the girls, these are your new secret weapon. The package says to leave the mask sheet on for ten minutes but I usually leave it on for 30+ minutes until the sheet starts to dry out, just to make sure my skin soaks up as much of the serum as possible.
Next is Dickinson’s Original Witch Hazel
This stuff works wonders in so many different areas (tightens pores, helps with acne, works on razor burn, de-puffs eyes, and so much more) I use witch hazel for everything, its definitely a medicine cabinet must-have. But in this case I put it in a small spray bottle that I bought from Wal-Mart and I spray it all over my face after I wash it, to tighten up my pores, even out my skin tone, and help keep any pimples from appearing. I have used which hazel for at least 8 years, I started using it in high school when I would get frequent pimples and it helped immensely, now I barely ever get pimples!
First Aid Beauty Detox Eye Roller
This is a newer product in my vanity but I have been really loving it. The product rolls on with a roller ball and is made for your under-eye area. As soon as I apply it I can feel it working, it hydrates so well, de-puffs, and helps with fine lines and dark circles. I don’t personally have dark circles but I do get a little puffiness, and it works really well for that! I haven’t been using it long enough to see a reduction in my fine lines but ill update this post again when/if I see results later on. I bought this product just as a under eye moisturizer and it fills that roll perfectly.
Fresh Sugar Lip Serum Advanced Therapy
I am in love with this serum! My lips get really dried out in the winter so I like to exfoliate them frequently (previous post on that – here), but after I exfoliate I needed something that was really going to replenish the moisture back into my lips and protect them from getting dried out again. I was shopping as Sephora and spied the Fresh Sugar products and thought I would give this one a try and I absolutely love it! It’s a serum so you still need to use a moisture stick shortly after you apply it but it really soaks into your lips and feels amazing
In combination with the Fresh Lip Serum I use this Nuxe Paris – Lip Moisturizing Stick
Regular chap stick just wasn’t cutting it for me this winter, so I went to shoppers and thought I’d try a more specialty moisture stick to see if it could save my lips. This one is pretty good, It definitely moisturizes my lips and helps keep them soft. I apply it about ten minutes after I apply my Fresh Sugar serum, to seal in the moisture. however I don’t find this moisture stick has as much staying power as I would have liked. I find myself having to apply it over and over again throughout the day, which is pretty standard for a moisture stick, but that’s what I was hoping to get away from by going with a more specialty stick. So I am still on the hunt for the perfect one! let me know if you have any suggestions for a good one that stays on for a couple hours 🙂
& Last but not least I use the Olay Age Defying moisturisers for day and night;
Because of my sensitive skin I find heavy moisturizers clog my pores, cause break outs, and irritate my skin, so I have been using this Olay moisturizer on and off for years. It’s always my number 1 go-to. I find myself testing out different products a lot whether it be testers I get from Sephora, or Shoppers, or even in gift packs, and nothing has been as gentle as Olay. It’s very light on my skin but still helps my face to feel moisturized and smooth. The day cream goes perfect under makeup without feeling greasy, which is one of the reasons I love it so much. And the night cream is just a tad bit heavier but still doesn’t cause breakouts, I wake up with a soft smooth face after each use.
I hope you enjoyed this post on my top facial care favorites, and thank you for reading!
