We are soooo close to the first day of spring and I have been
impatiently waiting! Warmer temps call for brighter colours, and I’m not just talking in our wardrobes. It’s time to retire the dark makeup looks until next autumn and bring back our fresh beachy glow! For this I knew I needed to make a trip to the mall and pick up some new lip colours!
The first stop I made was to MAC Cosmetics and ended up leaving with two newbies to add to my collection!
The first lipstick I went in specifically looking for, which was MAC A84 -Cremesheen in Coral Bliss, this one is the perfect everyday lipstick! Its a bright pinky coral, with a gorgeous sheen and texture to it. It’s buildable, so depending on your mood you can swipe it once over your lips for a natural sheen, or layer it on a few times for a really fresh pinky-coral colour.
The second MAC lipstick I bought was the A65 – Matte in Tropic Tonic. This colour is definitely a bold one, but its still easily wearable! It goes on strong from the first swipe across your lips because of its matte consistency. Which makes it perfect for date night or a fun party look!
My next stop was at Shoppers Drug Mart, I’ve heard really good things about the new Maybelline New York Vivid Matte Liquid Lip Colour and wanted to check it out for myself. It took me forever to decided on a colour, but after a (literal)handful of swatches, the shade I decided on was #15 Pink Charged! This is a gorgeous bright pink, but its matte so the colour is very opaque. I wouldn’t wear this as an everyday look but its perfect for when your feeling extra girly!
While I was raiding the Maybelline Lip section I stumbled upon new summer shades in their Colour Sensation Rebel Bloom lipsticks, which are all soo petty! I had to pick up an everyday pink lipstick because the Vivid Matte is quite bold, so I went with 715 Hibiscus Pop. The colour is almost the exact same as the Vivid Matte one I bought but this was a lot more sheer which was exactly what I was looking for.
