Hurray it’s Friday!
I hope everyone had a good week, mine was very productive which is always a good feeling going into the weekend! I mentioned in Wednesday’s post that I attended the VIP Fleurs De Villes event at Mapleview Centre on Tuesday night and had an amazing time, so today I’m giving you guys a little preview of what I got to see, and also sharing a really cute mothers day idea for anyone in the GTA(Greater Toronto Area).
A little background of what Fleurs De Villes is: Fleurs De Villes creates bespoke flower events across Canada and right now they are stopped in Burlington, Ontario to showcase amazing local talent. They have rounded up Burlington’s most creative florists to create stunning outfits made solely of flowers. Because they showcase local talent from each city they stop in, the gallery of floral mannequins is always changing, making for a fresh event in each new city!
Each mannequin is inspired by something – a clothing designer, an event or even a cause, the mannequin above was inspired by Breast Cancer Awareness. This one was one of my favorites, the attention to detail is amazing, and the back was just as gorgeous!
There are 15 mannequins to see at the event but I don’t want to give away what all of them look like because you should go check them out for yourself! If your not in the GTA but your in Canada, look out for an upcoming Fleus De Villes event near you.
The cutest mothers day excursion you can do with your mom tomorrow… Most moms like flowers right? Well the Fleurs De Villes event is opening up a popup flower market in Mapleview Center tomorrow, Saturday May 13th from 10-5. So take your moms through a tour of the mannequins, (starting at the Shoppers Drug Mart entrance of the mall) snap pictures, read about the inspiration behind each one, and make sure you vote for your favorite one, there’s an exclusive prize up for grabs!! And once you’ve done all that, make your way up to the flower market (2nd floor, in front of the elevator) and treat her to the flowers of her choice. It makes for a easy way to show your mom how much you care, and its fun for the both of you! 🙂
Happy Mothers Day to all the moms out there, I hope you get spoiled by your family this weekend <3
Thanks for stopping by!

Good Morning Everyone!
The new summer collections are rolling out in stores lately, which has me glued to my inbox for ‘new arrival’ e-mails from my favorite brands. Today I thought I would share some of the items I have on my wishlist! As you can easily tell, the theme is blush pinks and golds – with a pop of blue. I’ve really been making a conscious effort to stay away from more blue clothing, since that’s all I’ve been buying this spring…and I’m sure you guys are going to get tired of seeing me wearing it soon lol! I’d say I’m doing a pretty good job by distracting myself with pinks in the mean time.
Today is my first official day of full time blogger status, and I’m on my way to the hair salon and nail salon, to start this journey off right! The rain here has finally cleared up (it lasted a solid week!) so I’m excited to finally get out of the house and do some running around. On a side note; does anyone watch Carli Bybel’s YouTube channel? She’s a makeup guru who just came out with a gorgeous new limited edition eye-shadow and highlighter pallet. I pre-ordered one a month ago and finally received it in the mail on Friday, it looks amazing! I was thinking about doing a review or tutorial with it…would you guys be interested in seeing something like that? let me know!

Happy Monday everyone!
Spring has finally sprung and Easter is just a few weeks away! I always feel so energized this time of year (after what feels like an eternal winter), I get in this mood where all I want to do is clean, organize, and get creative with fun projects. Baking always seems to be one of the things I turn to when I’m feeling this way, so yesterday I had fun making these cute little birds nest cupcakes I saw on Pinterest.
Whether you’re in need of a dessert to bring to Easter dinner, or you just feel like making something fun an simple, these cupcakes are totally for you! I saw the idea on Pinterest and thought it was too cute not to try myself, and it was surprisingly easy.
What I Used:
- Betty Crocker French Vanilla Cake Mix
- Mini Eggs ( I chose the ‘Our Finest’ brand because they have the little speckles on them!)
- Spring-y cupcake trays
- After I baked the cupcakes I whipped up some vanilla icing with green food colouring, and chocolate icing, making sure they were extra thick so they would keep their shape
- I put the green icing in a pasty bag and attached a small star tip, I did the ‘grass’ on all of my cupcakes before starting the nests
- Next I put the chocolate icing in a freezer bag and cut a small hole in the corner to use for the nests, swirling it around in ‘messy’ circles to make it look like little branches
- After that I just filled the little nests with mini eggs, and topped some of the cupcakes with peeps, to add a bit of variety
And thats all there was to it, A super fun and easy cupcake idea for any spring time occasion!
