Happy August guys!

Peter and I are home from our little vacation and back on the work grind this morning. I planned for this post to go up on Monday but I wasn’t able to find any Wifi where we stayed, I even went into town to see if I could find any coffee shops or restaurants with Wifi but no such luck! We ended up in a very small cottage country town, with not much around besides a Home Hardware (that served ice cream!) and a Chip Wagon on the side of the road.

So today is the day I get to share this cute wrap top from Banana Republic that I picked up a couple weeks ago! I wore it to grab ice cream in “town” on Sunday afternoon and it was perfect. The weather was hot and windy so I’m glad I opted for a light weight sleeveless top, I also bought it in another pattern as well that I’ll be putting up on the blog soon. I love that they’re so easy to dress up or down, throw a blazer over it and wear with dress pants to an office, or pair with jeans like I did here for a lunch date or trip to the mall!

Good morning!

I’m writing you guys from my bed this morning since Peter and I stayed up super late last night shopping and packing for our camping trip this Friday. I’m extra tired right now but I’m trying to snap myself out of it because I have a lot on my to-do list today!

Anyways, I recently found this adorable floral dress and thought it would be perfect for summer events, birthdays, baby showers, that kind of thing, so I grabbed it as soon as a saw it in stores. Except I loved it so much I wanted to wear it now, so I dressed it down with a jean jacket and booties to show the versatility. I’m really loving booties this year, as long as they are a light coloured suede (or faux suede) you can definitly get away with them in the summer. They always give me a bit of that country feel when paired with a dress, I love it!

Happy Friday Guys,

I hope everyone had a great week! Today I’m sharing a summery OOTD featuring this palm print off-the-shoulder top from Cotton Couture. I love how airy and light the material is, and the best part – it doesn’t wrinkle, so its great for travel! I went away a couple weekends ago and packed it to wear to dinner with a pair of white jeans, and when I pulled it out of my suitcase it was the best surprise that there was not one wrinkle in the material! Cotton Couture is a cute little online boutique based in the US with a good variety of trendy pieces at reasonable price points. They were nice enough to send me this turquoise choker as well and I’m obsessed, you’ll definitely be seeing it pop up in my Instagram feed sometime soon!

*If you check out their site and see anything you like, use code ‘MELISSA10‘ for 10% off your purchase.

On another note, Wednesday was my dads birthday so tonight we’re going bowling as a family – as per his request! He’s been wanting to go with all of us for a while, so we made sure to clear our schedules just for him. Other then that I’m taking it pretty easy this weekend and going to try and enjoy some time outside, maybe go for a hike on Saturday or something! Do you have any exciting plans for the weekend? I’d love to hear about them!

Just a reminder the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale opens to the public today, and items will start selling out really fast! Everything will be restocked first thing this morning, so if your planning to purchase something from the sale make sure to place your orders while items are still in stock!

Welcome to The *NEW* Blonde Closet!

Happy Monday everyone,

I’m sure you’ve noticed things are looking a little different around here! It took some time but I’ve finally upgraded the site to be everything I ever wanted in an online space. I had to teach myself how to build and self-host this blog all by myself. Which took some serious patience (lol!) but I’m so glad I decided to go that route, instead of hiring someone to do it for me. And I do apologize because it really did cut into my blog posting schedule over the last month or so, but now that its finished things will get back to normal around here!

So take a look around and let me know what you think.
