May Favorites!

Hey Guys!

Happy Friday everyone, I’m doing something a little different for my Favorites post this month and sharing a few of my favorite summer trends instead of my usual Makeup picks. My makeup routine has stayed the same through May so I don’t have much to share and thought this would be a good time to add something new into the mix!

ONYX Professional Nail Dryer – here (On SALE for $2!!)

This stuff is a game changer and definitely my favorite out of all my picks this month! If you’re prone to smudged nail polish because you cant sit still for long enough for it to dry, your not alone! Waiting for nail polish to dry/smudged polish is probably my biggest pet peeve, so you can imagine my excitement after finally finding a product that prevents this. Its a aerosol spray that smells like coconut and dries your polish 10x faster then letting them air dry, and its only $8! I tested it out myself and had a perfect mani with only 1 minute of dry time…life changer!

The Body Shop Youth Facial Peel – here

I kept seeing this product all over Instagram so I had to give it a try for myself. Its a gel-like liquid that you apply to your face in circular motions, and you can start to see the dead skin cells peel off instantly. My verdict: It’s amazing! My face feels sooo soft and clean after each use.

Dove Advanced Care Coconut Deodorant – here

Okay I know this is pretty random to add to my favorites but I switched over to this deodorant for the summer because it smells like coconut and works sooooo well. With summer around the corner I love everything coconut and moisturizing, and this deodorant is the best of both worlds while keeping me dry at the same time!

Trends

One Shoulder

I’ve been loving the one shoulder trend just as much as my favorite off-the-shoulder trend. I think it’s the perfect mix of sexy and practical because the one strap keeps the shirt in place so you don’t have to keep pulling it up or adjusting, but it still has the sexy bare shoulder and exposed collar bone on the other side. Making this the perfect summer trend!

Lace Up

You guys know I’ve been loving this trend for a while, and the month of May has been no different. I love pieces that have interest to them but are still comfortable, so this trend is perfect since most ‘lace up’ tops are just normal cotton tees or tanks with the lace details added in.

Yellow

Yellow is big for summer this year so I’ve been stocking up my closet in preparation. I always used to love wearing yellow as a kid and I’m so happy its come back in style for the summer. Not that it was ever ‘out of style’ but yellow just hasn’t been the ‘it’ colour in a while so its been hard to find in stores, until now!

Lifestyle

Currently Burning – Georgia Peach Bath & Body Works Candle – here

I’ve been burning my Bath&BodyWorks Georgia Peach candle all month! It’s the perfect spring and summer scent for your house and car, I have the car scents too and get compliments on how good my car smells all the time!

Greenery (instead of flowers)

I love how tropical this looks in a vase without adding flowers, and they stay alive for months! Its the perfect alternative to buying fresh flowers and much less expensive. Each leaf usually costs around .99 cents and you only need a couple for an arrangement.

The Bachelorette

Who else is watching this season? I love Rachel and she seems to have a pretty great group of guys this season! Peter is my favourite so far…but I might be name biased haha!

On another note: I’m starting to feel a lot better! So Peter and I are planning a blog shoot tomorrow morning, which means more OOTD posts coming soon! Also its National Doughnut day so I’m going for a doughnut and iced lemonade run after I publish this post! Follow me on Instagram for updates on what I get up to this weekend 🙂 links are in the side bar!

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great weekend!

June Favorites!

Happy July everyone!

I hope everyone had a great long weekend. I can’t believe it’s already July and I’m rounding up my June Favorites, I feel like just last week I was compiling my May Favorites! This post is a bit of a mixture of new products and a few oldies that I have recently re-discovered and have been using religiously.

Face Mask – here / Bath Bubble Bar – here / Hair Mask – here / High Beam Highlighter – here / Maybelline Powder – here / Chapstick – here / Tea – here / Dry Erase Calendar – here / Fresh Flowers /

Blueberry Face Mask –

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while you will know I’m a big fan of the Face Shop’s facial sheet masks, and this blueberry one is no exception! Every time I go into the Face Shop I try new masks because they have so much variety and all do such a good job for such a reasonable price(only $2)! My face feels so sooth and hydrated after each use and the masks do a really good job of evening out my skin tone.

Lush Bubble Bar –

I tried one of these for the first time this month and was able to get about three uses out of it, I broke off pretty big chunks each time because I wanted my bubbles to be really dense and luxurious haha! This bar definitely did not disappoint, I’ll have to go back to Lush and buy a few more. These are waaaay better then using a liquid bubble bath soap, I find my skin feels so moisturized afterwards!

Hask; Keratin Protein Hair Mask –

I have used the Hask; Monoi Oil Hair mask before and talked about it in this post, but I just tried the Keratin Protein version this month and loved it so much! The smell was so amazing instead of leaving it on for 30 mins like the package recommends I slept with it in and my hair felt soooo hydrated when I washed it out the next morning!

Benefit High Beam –

I’m a sucker for highlighters in the summer because I love the look of tan, dewy skin! I’ve used High Beam for a while now and I always reach for it when I want a highlighter that’s going to stand out(in a good way). However if your looking for a less expensive highlighter I have written about a Maybelline one in my April Favorites post, which is really good too and fairly comparable to the benefit high beam.

Maybelline Dream Wonder Powder –

I just bought this at the beginning of the month and love it! The shade of the powder matches perfectly with my fake tan which I was having a tough time finding since I’m not used to buying dark makeup (since I’m naturally really fair). It’s a pretty good coverage for a powder too which is nice because I don’t always want to wear foundation if I’m just running errands or going to the beach. Only downside is I’ve only been using it for a month, if that, and it’s already almost gone. The pan that the powder sits in is deceivingly shallow, so buy it when it’s on sale!

ChapStick –

This one is pretty self explanatory, cherry flavored ChapStick is my go-to! I love the smell but also that it gives off a bit of red tint on my lips so I don’t always have to wear lipstick. It’s also the perfect base for when you are wearing lipstick, because it helps prevent your lipstick from drying out.

Passion Tea Lemonade –

Last month I told you guys that I was downing lemonade like it was my day job, but this month I decided to freshen things up a bit and make Passion Tea Lemonade inspired by everyone’s favorite Starbucks drink! Recipe is in this post, you have to try it! You’ll love it, It’s super refreshing!

Dry Erase Calender –

I’ve always been a list person, and always tried to be an agenda person but could never stick with it. I would use my agenda for a few weeks and then forget about it and become all disorganized again, out of sight out of mind, right? So I figured if I had a calendar that I could hang on my wall I would never forget to keep organized, and it worked! I got this cute one from Indigo but it’s actually just a big sticker that you stick to your wall, I didn’t like the idea of not being able to take it down and write on it so I stuck it to foam poster board and then velcrowed it to the wall. This way I can easily take it down and write on it!

Fresh Cut Flowers –

These are a no brainer, who doesn’t love fresh cut flowers in their house!? I’m really loving peonies now that they’re in season.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

❤ enjoy your week.

Friday Feature

Woo happy FriYAY!

I can’t believe how fast this week has flown by.. actually this whole month has gone by insanely fast now that i think about it. No complaints here though because that means consistent warm weather is approaching fast! Currently the weather is nice but there is still a bit of cold air blowing off the lake which makes it quite chilly if you don’t have a little jacket. Which brings me to my Friday feature; leather jackets!

leatherjacket

Jacket – Here

Now I know you guys have seen me wear a few leather jackets numerous times on my blog, but I feel like you can never go wrong with one! I have 4 leather jackets in my closet (3 faux, 1 real leather) because they are soooo versatile, it’s the perfect jacket to throw on over any outfit! I especially love putting one on over a super girly outfit, to give the look some edge.

This week (and every other week for that matter) I’ve been wearing my ZARA jacket the most because it’s the one that is made from real leather and I just find it so much warmer then my faux leather ones(If you know me personally, you know i’m always cold!). However I do love buying faux leather jackets because they are usually pretty inexpensive and i’m more likely to buy one in a trendier cut or style, without worrying about them going out of style. The jacket I’m linking is a faux leather ZARA jacket but it looks very similar to my real leather one that I bought last year.

Thanks for reading guys, have an amazing weekend! ❤
