My Favorite Fashion Bloggers! *Friday Feature*

Hurray it’s Friday!

Todays post was originally going to be an outfit post from when Peter and I spent the day in Toronto this past Monday, but I lost my camera cord which means I can’t get the pictures onto my laptop (insert crying emoji)! I’m so confused because I have no idea where it could have gone, my only guess it that I accidentally threw it out when I was sick. I’ll have to go buy a new one this weekend and hopefully have the post up on Monday for you guys!

Instead today’s post is a Friday feature all about my favorite bloggers! I’ve never really shared what blogs I read and am inspired by, so today that’s exactly what I’m going to do. My favorite type of blogs to read are the same niche as my own, of course. So they’re all women’s Fashion and Lifestyle blogs. With the kind of writing style I connect with the most, bubbly and fun, almost like your best friend is talking to you when your reading through the posts.

I have two absolute favorite blogger crushes and they are  ‘Southern Curls and Pearls‘ (Caitlyn Covington) and ‘The Sweetest Thing‘ (Emily Ann Gemma) These girls are the cutest, and are actually blogger BFF’s in real life, which is so nice to see. Their outfit posts are actually things you’ll want to wear and most are all pieces from Nordstrom or Zara which is totally attainable for the everyday woman. Their blogs are bright and girly and not just strictly fashion either, they share beauty tricks, travel reviews, fitness tips, recipes and more… I get so inspired by these two and I hope you guys check them out, because I know you’ll love them just as much as I do!  …and did I mention they both are #hairgoals (seriously though!)

Festive In Fair Isle!

Hat – Danier Leather (not online) / Similar Jacket / Top / Scarf / Jeans / Bag / Pom Pom – Town Shoes (not online) / Boots

Happy Friday everyone!!

For todays post, I’m sharing my new favorite Fair Isle scarf because it literally looks like a winter wonderland! I dont normally buy scarves from Aldo but when I saw this one in the store I fell inlove instantly. I’m thinking of wearing it on Christmas eve with a cream mock neck sweater, because it looks especially festive paired with other cream pieces!

Anyway… I still cant believe tomorrow is Christmas Eve! Where has December gone!? I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend filled with family and fun!

Merry Christmas!

How I'm Getting In The Christmas Spirit!

Hi guys!

Today I wanted to get all festive on the blog and share with you how im getting excited for the holidays! My ‘Getting ready for Fall‘ post went over really well so I figured I would lay this post out in kind of the same way. So lets jump right into it!

Fill the air with holiday cheer!

The first thing I always do is pick up some festive holiday candles so my room smells like Christmas. My all-time favorite is Winter Candy Apple, but I discovered Twisted Peppermint this year and absolutely love that one too!

Fill my belly with holiday treats!

I love baking all year round but nothing beats fall/winter baking in the cooler weather. Its so therapeutic baking up a storm inside when snow is falling outside! Every year my sister and I make our favorite holiday rice crispy treats, but they never last more then two days before we’ve eaten the whole batch (oops…haha!).

My mom has always baked up a huge batch of sugar cookies right before Christmas and then my sister, mom and I spend all night decorating them. We bring cookie platters with us to holiday parties and they are always a favorite. It’s a tradition we have done since I can remember and I look forward to it every year. This year I think I’m going to put the recipe and the platter ideas up on my blog, so keep an eye out for that post in the coming weeks!

Spending time with family, doing traditional Christmas activities!

Whether it be curling up by the fire watching Christmas movies together, baking our favorite treats, or building a ginger bread village, this year we are making a conscious effort to spend family time together every week to do a Christmas-based activity.

Listening to Christmas Music!

Before work or in the car I love putting on some Christmas music to get me in the spirit before braving the mall parking lot (#retailworkerproblems) and the hectic stores during December. I find it gives me a little bit more patience and lightens my mood before I start my shift at work, or work on my Christmas shopping.

*My favorite playlist right now is Spotify’s ‘CHRISTMAS MUSIC’ ! Also, for anyone that has Cogeco digital cable I’ve been listening to the ‘holiday favorites’ channel #342 a lot and love it!img_5498

Festive Decorating!

If you’ve been following my blog for a while, this one probably comes as no surprise to you. I looooovvee decorating for every occasion but Christmas is by far my favorite! I love how everything feels so cozy after it’s decorated for Christmas, with the sparkle off the ornaments, and the twinkle from my fairy lights, It just brings me so much joy!

Have nights-in watching holiday movies!

Every night after work in the month of December I love climbing into bed with a cup of tea and watching a Christmas movie before bed.

My top 5 favorites are:

  • Elf
  • Love Actually
  • The Holiday
  • Operation Christmas
  • Christmas Incorporated

Do you have any holiday traditions you start doing come December!? Let me know in the comments below!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Cookie Mashup Tray Recipe!

Hey guys!

Hope everyone had a good weekend, I had a work meeting Sunday morning so I spent a few hours on Saturday night baking up a cookie storm haha! With the holidays coming up I thought I’d share the recipes with you guys since the cookies went over so well with my co-workers. This tray is the best of all the cookie worlds, it has something for everyone but is still super easy and fun to make! (You wont have to make 4 totally different dough’s from scratch, don’t worry!)

This Tray Consists Of:

  • M&M’s cookies
  • White Chocolate & Sliced Almond Cookies
  • Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies
  • Reese’s Pieces Peanut Butter Cookies

I started by making a triple batch of basic cookie dough and then separated that dough into 3 bowls and mixed in their individual garnishes (M&M, White choc & almond, and oatmeal choco chip). After these three were all mixed and ready, I went on to make my peanut butter cookies which is just a slightly different recipe. *See below for recipes

Single* Batch Dough Recipe:

  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tbs milk
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt

*This recipe is for a single batch of dough making 10-12 cookies, If you want to make all 3 types of cookies just multiply the recipe by 3!

For the M&M’s cookies just add 1 cup of chocolate M&Ms to your single batch of dough.

For white chocolate & almond cookies add 1 cup of white chocolate chips and 1/2 cup of sliced almonds.

For Oatmeal Chocolate chip cookies add 1/2 cup of chocolate chips and 1 cup of whole oats to your dough.

Single Batch of Reeses Pieces Peanut Butter Cookies:

  • 2/3 cup peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup Reeses Pieces candies

Next step is to make small balls out of the dough and place on a cookie sheet – bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.

You will have to make a few trays and bake individually until all your dough is gone.

Then just assemble on a platter and your ready to enjoy 🙂
