Hey Guys, Happy October!!
I wanted to start a new series on the blog for fall, all about how to get into the spirit and embrace the season. In the fall I find myself craving tv shows & movies that give me one of two feelings, cozy, or creepy, and I’m sure I’m not alone. So I’m breaking down all the shows and movies I’ve been hooked on that give me all the fall vibes!
Cozy Shows/Movies – ie. Shows that are usually set in the fall, but are wholesome and easy to watch with the whole family. They’re the perfect kind of show to curl up in bed to watch with a warm cup of tea or hot chocolate and just enjoy.
- The Good Witch – The movies are great, but the TV show is even better, and great for the whole family.
- The Proposal – A classic Rom-Com starring Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds, its an older movie but still one of my fall favourites
- Girl Vs Monster – A Disney Channel Halloween Movie, its sets the fall/Halloween feels and is easy to watch.
- Halloween Wars – A reality/competition show revolving around everything Halloween
- Halloween Baking Championship – Another reality/competition show that challenges bakers to make spooky treats (I love this one because it gives you fun ideas of what you could make with your family/friends)
A few classic movies worth mentioning – Hocus Pocus, Halloween town (1,2,3,&4), twitches (1&2), Tower of Terror, & Haunted Mansion.
Creepy Shows/Movies – ie. Shows with a bit of mystery and/or horror without being too scary(I don’t watch believably scary stuff or I get nightmares lol)
- Riverdale – Netflix’s new show based around the Archie comics
- Scream Queens – Full of (cheesy) murder and drama, but I love it.
- Scream – The Netflix Tv series NOT the old movies. I just discovered this show and binge watched the whole 2 seasons in three days. If you like PLL, Riverdale or Scream Queens you’ll like this one. (Warning* It is gory but its very fake looking, so its not overly scary)
- Stranger Things – I’m sure you’ve all seen the first season but if you haven’t you should catch up now because the new season comes out October 27th on Netflix!
- Shadow Hunters – I mentioned this one last year when there was only 1 season on Netflix, and now that season two just ended and the filming for season three has started I feel like I should mention it again. If you like supernatural shows with demons and vampires, you’ll love this show.
A few older shows worth mentioning incase you didn’t take the plunge into them years ago – Pretty Little Liars (their coming out with a spin off too!!), The Walking Dead, & The 100.
I’m going to keep adding to this post as I discover more Autumnal shows, so keep checking back! If you have any shows or movies you think I should watch and add to the list leave me a comment below. Id love to hear your suggestions for fally shows 🙂
Similar Sweater / Scarf (Only $17!) / Similar Skirt / Bag (Current Version) / Similar Boots /
..Okay I know I’m always wearing these button up style denim skirts but I just love how versatile they are, especially in the fall. Wearing a sweater and blanket scarf keeps it cozy and comfortable, and on cooler days you can throw on nylons with boot socks and OTK (over the knee) boots! The weather was still pretty mild over the weekend here so I was able to get away with a bare leg but it looks just as cute with higher boots too.
Is anyone else super excited for Halloween this weekend!? Peter and I have a Halloween party every year so I’m on the look out for fun decor ideas on Pinterest. If anyone has any spooky suggestions for me, I’m all ears! Let me know in the comments
Thanks for stopping by <3
Since I have been seeing gold ceramic skull décor all over the internet and blogs lately I thought I would DIY my own. I just cant bring myself to pay 30+ dollars for a trend piece that I’m only going to have on display in my room during the month of October. While I was browsing through the Dollarama by my house I spotted a white Halloween skull that I thought I could turn into a gold skull and I added a little glitz to it with some glitter.

Step One – Paint Skull
**If you want to do this the fast way gold spray paint would work best in less time**
I used acrylic paint to paint my skull because I already had this paint in my house – I had to do about three or four coats to get a really opaque colour. When painting the skull I used a sponge blush to dab the paint onto the skull, I found this worked much better for coverage compaired to a stroking motion. Let dry and complete this step multiple times until you have the colour intensity of your liking.
Step Two – Add Glitter
Once your skull is completely dry – take your crafting glue and cover the eye sockets in glue, using the tip of the glue bottle to help spread the glue evenly. Next sprinkle your glitter over the wet glue and press gently over the glittered areas to ensure the glitter is stuck in place. Continue this step on the nose socket or any other area you would like glitter.
Step Three – Clean Up
Tap the back of your skull while its face down to knock off any access glitter that isn’t stuck to the glue, then take a clean sponge brush and gently wipe away any stray glitters that are on the face of your skull.
and that’s all it takes to make a trendy gold skull to add a little edge to any room!
I found myself in a crafting mood yesterday and felt like making some cute room décor pieces inspired by Halloween! While I was browsing though my local Dollar Tree I found a few Styrofoam pumpkins and thought I could make them my own with a little white paint and a lot of gold glitter.

These pumpkins were extremely fun and easy to make and look so good in any room of the house! However they are a little messy to make so be sure to set out some newspaper over the table your working at in order to catch the loose glitter that falls from the pumpkins
Step One – Spray Paint Pumpkins
**This step should be done outdoors** The great thing about these pumpkins is that they are made of Styrofoam so I was able to insert the end of a paint brush into the bottom of each pumpkin (to hold onto while painting) in order to get a seamless spray with the paint. Once all three of the pumpkins were painted I set them down in a box outside to dry (about an hour). Once they are dry and painted to your preference move onto step two!
Step Two – Apply Glue (or Paint) & Glitter
You can apply the glue in which ever patteren you choose, but I do recommend working in small sections at a time. For example – with the polka-dot pumpkin I did three dots with glue at a time and then applied the glitter to ensure that the glue doesn’t dry before you get to the glitter.
I didn’t use glue to secure the glitter for all of the pumpkins because the glue is clear and hard to see when making detailed designs, so for the eyes and mouth of the jack-o-lantern pumpkin I used gold paint and painted on the design then while the paint was still wet I just went overtop of it with loose glitter.
Step Three – Remove Excess Glitter
Grab a clean sponge brush and gently wipe away any excess glitter that is stuck to your pumpkin (there will be a lot)
Now repeat steps 2 & 3 until all your pumpkins are decorated!
