Welcome to The *NEW* Blonde Closet!

Happy Monday everyone,

I’m sure you’ve noticed things are looking a little different around here! It took some time but I’ve finally upgraded the site to be everything I ever wanted in an online space. I had to teach myself how to build and self-host this blog all by myself. Which took some serious patience (lol!) but I’m so glad I decided to go that route, instead of hiring someone to do it for me. And I do apologize because it really did cut into my blog posting schedule over the last month or so, but now that its finished things will get back to normal around here!

So take a look around and let me know what you think.

My Top 7 Must-Have Fall Essentials!

1. A Good Exfoliator (for body, face and lips)

Having a few good ecfoliators for your whole body is ideal when the weather cools off. It’s always good to sloff off any dry, dead skin in the shower so your moisturizer can soak in properly!

My Favorites – Body Exfoliator / Face Exfoliator / Lip Exfoliator

2. A Hydrating Moisturizer (for body, face and lips)

Finding the perfect moisturizers for your skin isn’t always easy but once you do your skin will thank you for it. Getting a good skin care regimen in place now is smart so you can beat the dry skin before it starts.  I always lather up after using my exfoliators in the shower and my skin never feels better!

My Favorites – Body Moisturizer / Face Moisture SerumLip Balm

3. Nail Polish in a Darker Hue

Burgundy, forest green, taupe, and navy are all my favorite nail colours for this time of year! I love the look of a good manicure while I’m sipping on my favorite hot beverage in the cool months.

My current Favorite  –  Revlon Colorstay Gel Enamel (in colour *Queen Of Hearts*)

4. A Warm and Cozy Sweater

Perfect for wearing on days that you want to be super warm and comfortable. You can dress them up for work with a slim dress pant and heels. Or grab your favorite over sized-sweater, with leggings and boot socks for a cozy ‘day off’ look!

5. A Go-To Hot Drink

Whether it be a pumpkin spice latte, coffee, tea or hot chocolate, everyone has to have a favorite hot drink for sipping on that gives you a warm comforting feeling on a cool day!

6. A Good Pair of Boots  (that go with everything)

Everyone has their preference in style of boot – knee high, mid, ankle, or bootie. So whatever that is- grab a pair in a neutral colour to wear with all your outfits this season. Boots are an instant seasonal outfit refresher, turning even boring jeans and a tee shirt into a cute fall outfit!

My Pick – Tan Boot (I own this pair, and wear them with everything!)

7. Seasonal Accessories

Seasonal accessories have got to be my favorite part about fall fashion! Blanket scarves, boot socks, beanies and mittens, all of the coziest pieces come out of our closets this season and they all have amazing power in adding seasonal flair to any outfit!

My Picks –  Blanket Scarf / Boot Socks /

Outfit Details:Similar Shirt / Shorts (On sale!) / Similar Purse / Similar Sandals (Only $32!) / Watch / Bracelet /

I don’t know about you, but for me blue and white stripes just scream summer! I love how they always give a nautical vibe when paired with white bottoms (jeans, skirts, shorts..anything!). This shirt is actually just your typical ‘work shirt’ button up, it would be perfect tucked into a high wasted pencil skirt for the office. However, I wanted to wear it a little more casual so I tied the bottom into a knot and paired it with my favorite high waisted shorts. I wanted to let the stripes speak for themselves so I kept the accessories very neutral.

What do you guys think, Do you love stripes in summer as much as I do? Let me know in the comments!

Thanks so much for reading

5 Tips For A Good Nights Sleep

Hey guys!

Todays post is a little different then my usual content but at the beginning of the year I was having a lot of trouble falling asleep at night, I would toss and turn for hours not being able to shut my brain off and relax. After much experimenting and tweaking of my lifestyle I was able to find a routine that really works for me! I’m now able to shush my inner thoughts and get the sleep that I need! It’s been working for me for months now so I figured it was time to share, in case any of you have the same (really annoying) problem.

Tip One – Get Cozy

About an hour before I want to be asleep I get ready for bed – wash my face, brush my teeth, put my favorite pj’s on, this way I don’t have to do it when I’m finally feeling tired at the end of the night. I also like to fill up my hot water bottle to bring to bed with me. Hot water bottles are amazing for so many things whether you have aches and pains or just want some extra heat. I find when I use one at night in my bed it makes me feel so warm and cozy, which is the perfect combination for sleep!

Tip Two – Drink Chamomile Tea

I boil the kettle and make some chamomile tea at night, I drink it black so there’s no sugars that could be keeping me awake. Chamomile is caffeine free and helps calm the nervous system to help aid with sleep. It also helps soothe stomach aches too! I take my tea to bed with me and sip on it periodically.

Tip Three – Unplug

This tip  is the most important and probably the hardest for most of us – unplug, I shut off all social media and put my phone away. At night I like to give my brain a break from the constant whirlwind that is the internet. Instead of reaching for my phone or tablet I grab a book.

Tip Four – Lavender Mist

I love to spray lavender relaxing mist in the air and inhale before reading, it helps create a sense of harmony of your mind and body, so you can relax and focus.

Tip Five – Read

I read for an hour which really helps tune out all my thoughts/worries/stress and just focus on one thing. I don’t know about you guys but nothing puts me to sleep faster then reading a book in bed!

After all this I’m usually passed out within the hour!

Thanks for reading! <3

**I don’t do this every night, just when I’m stressed or needing to relax in order to sleep.
