Summer Round Up Ft. Charmed Aroma!

IMG_9739

Good morning guys!

Today I’m collaborating with Charmed Aroma to round up all of my favorite things that get me most excited for summer. I always love putting these seasonal posts together because its a really fun way to kick off another exciting season, and what better way to do it then with Charmed Aroma. As you guys know, I love candles, I burn them almost everyday and always switch the scents up for each season, but what makes Charmed Aroma extra special is that their candles are made with soy wax. Making them beautify fragrant, giving them a longer burning life, and hidden in that soy wax is a piece of jewelry! Yep you heard me… rings, earrings, necklaces and bracelets, are all hidden among their candles! Lucky for you they ship to Canada, United States, United Kingdom, and Australia, so you can all get your hands on them, and whats even better is I have an exclusive promo code for you too! ….But more on that later, lets jump into todays post!

Spending time outside

IMG_9706

This one I’m sure comes as no surprise, but spending time outdoors is something I do everyday in the summer. The weather is usually perfect and the flowers are too pretty not to sit and stare at haha! My mom, sister and I spend many afternoons with tea and cookies in the garden on sunny days, its our favorite thing to do in the summer!

Sip on my favorite summer drink

There is nothing better then a cold refreshing drink on a hot summer day, which is why I love making my favorite Starbucks inspired Passion Tea Lemonade. I posed the recipe for it here, and just doubled the batch in order to fill my juice pitcher! If you’ve never tried it, its just as refreshing as lemonade but with a fruity twist.

Bring the fresh smell of summer inside

IMG_9703

Okay, back to the good stuff – I saw this candle on the Charmed Aroma website and fell completely in love with it! Not only because of the adorable ceramic pineapple exterior (which makes for the cutest room decor!), but the description of the smell was so good I could almost smell it through the computer screen. Charmed Aroma was nice enough to send me one and let me tell you…its gooooood. I’m burning it as we speak and it smells like a tropical paradise, and that’s not even the best part! The ring hidden inside is worth up to $5,000! Its a candle that just keeps giving ❤

Bake up some summery treats

IMG_9740

I’m a big fan of lemon flavored baked goods in the summer, danishes, cupcakes, muffins, they are all my favorite! So when I’m in that baking mood I usually go for something fresh and lemony, like these lemon poppy seed muffins! These make for a perfect mid afternoon snack, and taste amazing.

Brighten up any space with fresh flowers

IMG_9705

Whether it be flowers from the garden (like I used) or store bought, having flowers around the house always puts a smile on my face. I usually purchase flowers in the fall and winter but in the spring and summer is nice to be able to go out to the garden and make bouquets out of whatever is in bloom.

Do you have any activities that you do to embrace the summer? Let me know in the comments below! And a big Thank you to Charmed Aroma for collaborating with me on this post. You can check out their full selection of candles, bath bombs, and body care on their website. Every one of their products come with a piece of sterling silver jewelry inside worth up to $5,000!! If you grab one be sure to share your jewelry reveal online with #charmedaroma for a chance to win another free ring!

Hey Friends,

I hope everyone had a good week! It’s been super rainy and overcast here for the past week, it seems like every time Peter and I have a set time for a photo shoot we get rained out 😦 but I can’t complain too much because at least the flowers and trees look extra lush this year! I saw this cute little crochet off the shoulder top on the Forever 21 website a few weeks ago and had to order it right away because I had a feeling it would sell out quickly. I’m so glad I did because I wasn’t able to find it on the website to link it but I did find a few similar options and linked them above!

Does anyone have any exciting plans for this weekend? I reached 10k on Instagram (!!) so Peter and I are going out tonight to celebrate <3. Thank you so much for reading my blog and coming along on this journey with me, I can’t even explain how great it feels to have so many of you that are like friends to me. Your always supportive and kind and I look forward to getting to know you better along the way! If you have a blog, link it down below or e-mail me the link because I would love to check it out and read about you too!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend! ❤

Happy Friday!!

Can we talk about how cute and summery this little pom pom top is!? I mentioned it in my ‘affordable spring clothing haul‘ post a few months back and have finally gotten around the wearing it. It’s no secret that I’m obsessed with the off the shoulder trend but these pom poms make it so much better! I feel like I should be somewhere tropical, with a big floppy hat on and a drink in my hand while wearing it hahah! Instead, I wore this outfit on a lunch date with Peter and it was just as good. We couldn’t have picked a better day to spend together, the weather was perfection.

Anyway, I mentioned in Wednesdays post that Peter and I have a wedding to go to tonight and I managed to pick an outfit up for Peter but I still have no idea what I’m going to wear. S.O.S!! I can’t seem to find any dresses that are catching my eye lately, and that actually look good on me. I’m going to run to the mall again today for a second look…fingers crossed!

Hey guys!

Today’s post is a little compilation of a few super cute and really affordable summer fashion finds I’ve come across lately! Obviously I’m still on the rose gold/ blush pink wave for the summer, it’s a shade that has always been my favorite to wear but its also really on trend ATM so why not just take full advantage of it!? Its been scorching hot here for the past few days so all I’m thinking about right now is my summer wardrobe, I’m placing my order for these adorable soft shorts as we speak!

I’ve got a ton of errands to run today and on top of that Peter and I have a wedding to go to on Friday but neither of us have anything to wear, so I’ve got make a stop at the mall to pick us up some new things. Wish me luck!

Have a great rest of the week,

and I’ll see you Friday ❤

Good morning everyone!

I wore this lace tee out last week and got tons of compliments and questions about it so I figured it was blog worthy. It’s actually the same top I wore in a post back in February just in a different colour, and its grown to be one of my favorite tops! It’s from a couple seasons ago but I found the newer summer version online and linked it above, they’re basically the same top just the new one is sleeveless. I love them because the lace mixed with the rope detailing makes the top a statement on its own so you can keep the rest of your outfit really simple but still look put together. It was a hot day when I shot this look so I just wore my top with a nude bra but if I’m going out with family or friends I just throw a nude camisole on underneath and I’m good to go!

Hi guys!

I’ve fallen head over heels in love with this bodysuit/skirt combo ever since I picked it up a few weeks ago. I’ve been waiting for a perfect warm spring day to wear it, and thankfully Wednesday was gorgeous so I was able to bust it out! The whole outfit looks really pretty and feminine, perfect for a little lunch date downtown, and that’s exactly what Peter and I did on Wednesday afternoon. He had the day off because his truck was in for repairs so we took advantage of the perfect weather and snapped some pictures for the blog and then went for lunch!

My sickness (flu? strep throat?) is finally 100% gone!! So I’m excited to be able to enjoy this weekend without being cooped up in the house. I’m all healed up just in time for our City’s big music festival, its running this weekend and the next so I’m thrilled I’ll actually be able to attend!

Do you guys have any exciting plans coming up? I’d love to hear about it. Let me know in the comments!

May Favorites!

Hey Guys!

Happy Friday everyone, I’m doing something a little different for my Favorites post this month and sharing a few of my favorite summer trends instead of my usual Makeup picks. My makeup routine has stayed the same through May so I don’t have much to share and thought this would be a good time to add something new into the mix!

Beauty

ONYX Professional Nail Dryer – here (On SALE for $2!!)

This stuff is a game changer and definitely my favorite out of all my picks this month! If you’re prone to smudged nail polish because you cant sit still for long enough for it to dry, your not alone! Waiting for nail polish to dry/smudged polish is probably my biggest pet peeve, so you can imagine my excitement after finally finding a product that prevents this. Its a aerosol spray that smells like coconut and dries your polish 10x faster then letting them air dry, and its only $8! I tested it out myself and had a perfect mani with only 1 minute of dry time…life changer!

The Body Shop Youth Facial Peel – here

I kept seeing this product all over Instagram so I had to give it a try for myself. Its a gel-like liquid that you apply to your face in circular motions, and you can start to see the dead skin cells peel off instantly. My verdict: It’s amazing! My face feels sooo soft and clean after each use.

Dove Advanced Care Coconut Deodorant – here

Okay I know this is pretty random to add to my favorites but I switched over to this deodorant for the summer because it smells like coconut and works sooooo well. With summer around the corner I love everything coconut and moisturizing, and this deodorant is the best of both worlds while keeping me dry at the same time!

Trends

One Shoulder

I’ve been loving the one shoulder trend just as much as my favorite off-the-shoulder trend. I think it’s the perfect mix of sexy and practical because the one strap keeps the shirt in place so you don’t have to keep pulling it up or adjusting, but it still has the sexy bare shoulder and exposed collar bone on the other side. Making this the perfect summer trend!

Lace Up

You guys know I’ve been loving this trend for a while, and the month of May has been no different. I love pieces that have interest to them but are still comfortable, so this trend is perfect since most ‘lace up’ tops are just normal cotton tees or tanks with the lace details added in.

Yellow

Yellow is big for summer this year so I’ve been stocking up my closet in preparation. I always used to love wearing yellow as a kid and I’m so happy its come back in style for the summer. Not that it was ever ‘out of style’ but yellow just hasn’t been the ‘it’ colour in a while so its been hard to find in stores, until now!

Lifestyle

Currently Burning – Georgia Peach Bath & Body Works Candle – here

I’ve been burning my Bath&BodyWorks Georgia Peach candle all month! It’s the perfect spring and summer scent for your house and car, I have the car scents too and get compliments on how good my car smells all the time!

Greenery (instead of flowers)

I love how tropical this looks in a vase without adding flowers, and they stay alive for months! Its the perfect alternative to buying fresh flowers and much less expensive. Each leaf usually costs around .99 cents and you only need a couple for an arrangement.

The Bachelorette

Who else is watching this season? I love Rachel and she seems to have a pretty great group of guys this season! Peter is my favourite so far…but I might be name biased haha!

On another note: I’m starting to feel a lot better! So Peter and I are planning a blog shoot tomorrow morning, which means more OOTD posts coming soon! Also its National Doughnut day so I’m going for a doughnut and iced lemonade run after I publish this post! Follow me on Instagram for updates on what I get up to this weekend 🙂 links are in the side bar!

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great weekend!
